Senior Research Associate, Antibody Discovery

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Antibody Discovery team as a Senior Research Associate. The successful candidate will contribute to our efforts for the discovery of monoclonal antibodies using hybridoma and single B cell technologies from AbTherx’s Atlas™ Mice. This role requires operating with minimal supervision to deliver on projects against a variety of targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute antibody discovery campaigns to generate monoclonal antibodies using hybridoma and/or B-cell technology platforms
  • Evaluate serum titres, process lymphoid mouse tissues, and perform electro-fusions and subcloning
  • Screen and characterize antibodies for binding and functional activity using ELISA, flow cytometry, biochemical and cell-based assays
  • Maintain, expand, cryopreserve, and clone cell lines
  • Explore new technologies, opportunities, and automation to improve/streamline the antibody discovery workflows and processes
  • Maintain accurate registering of experimental results and sample tracking, and provide regular progress updates

Qualification Requirements

  • MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or related field with 2+ years of industry experience, or BS with 5+ years of industry experience with strong success track record
  • Hands-on experience with antibody discovery using hybridoma technology and/or single B cell approach is a must
  • Small animal handling techniques are beneficial but not required
  • Hands-on experience with cell biology including mammalian cell culture, transfection, and running functional cell-based assays
  • Hands-on experience with protein-protein interaction using a variety of methods such as quantitative ELISA and flow cytometry
  • Experience with automation and high-throughput assay development is strongly preferred
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a startup environment
  • Highly organized and energetic person with excellent attention to details, time management, and communication skills
